Vitamin D is a fat-soluble vitamin that is naturally present in very few foods. It is also produced when ultraviolet rays from sunlight strike the skin. Most Vitamin D supplement is not absorbed from your body because it is manmade.

Vitamin D is needed for promoting calcium absorption in the gut. It has other roles in human health such as reduction of inflammation, modulation of neuromuscular and immune function.

Vitamin D Deficiency can lead to diabetes, arthritis, heart failure, cancer, osteoporosis, obesity, and many other disease and or problems. Too much Vitamin D may cause rickets (bowing of the legs) especially with Infants and children.

The best way to get Vitamin D is from sunlight. For those who don’t get enough Vitamin D in the winter months, it is best to get it from Cod Liver Oil because this provides a natural source of Vitamin D.
