Technique Used

Chiropractic has been shown to be safe and is the fastest growing form of health care. We like to utilize more than one technique as all patients are unique and respond differently to different treatments. Here are the techniques utilized in our office under the TCS category:

Diversified

Diversified Technique is the most commonly used technique by chiropractors. Diversified is characterized by a high velocity, low amplitude thrust. Its objective is to restore proper movement and alignment of the spine and joint dysfunction. Motion palpation, line of drives and hands-on techniques are used to deliver a deeper thrust.

Drop Table

The primary chiropractic table we use is the drop table. We utilize the drop table when performing mirror-image adjusting. Often, patients will walk in with a tilted pelvis or twisted torso and we use the drop table to realign the spine. The drop table is raised to the patient’s weight tolerance and pressed down with the necessary pressure to realign the spine.

Gonstead

Gonstead is another technique used in our office that focuses on more specific adjusting. We use this technique very little, namely for low back adjusting on a handful of patients.

Instrument Adjusting

Instrument adjusting is used with every patient. Dr. Adham likes to adjust the patient manually followed by use of the adjustor. The adjustor sets off the proprioceptor cells (balance cells) and mechanoreceptor cells (mechanical cells) that “hang out” in your joints and sends them to the brain, signaling the brain to set the joints in proper position to restore balance and be mechanically correct. Some chiropractors use this instrument as their only form of adjusting. Instrument adjusting can also be used on elderly patients, kids, or patients who can’t tolerate manual adjusting.

Precussor (Fascia Release)

The Erchonia Precussor is used to release knotted fascia. Sometimes the joints may be set, the muscle spasms are diminished yet you still experience pain and limited movement. In most cases the fascia is the underlying problem. The Precussor is held on the injured area until the doctor feels the fascia release through the opposite hand (the feeling hand).

Extremity Adjusting

Extremity adjusting consists of adjusting joints outside of your spine such as the shoulders, elbows, wrists, fingers, hip joints, knees, ankles and toes.
